The plot of Morte Cucina revolves around Sao, a gifted cook who finds herself face-to-face with a man from her past who took advantage of her. We loved how Thanutphon Boonsang brings Sao to life, making her a complex and intriguing character. The way she uses her cooking to exact revenge is both creative and terrifying – who knew “revenge is a dish best served cold” could be so literal? The supporting cast, including Nopachai Jayanama and Tadanobu Asano, also deliver impressive performances that add depth to the story. Additionally, Pen-Ek Ratanaruang‘s direction is noteworthy, as he masterfully builds tension throughout the film, keeping viewers engaged and invested in the outcome.
Unfortunately, Morte Cucina isn’t without its flaws. With a disappointing TMDb rating of 0.5/10, it’s clear that this film hasn’t quite hit the mark with audiences. One of the major issues is the pacing, which can feel a bit rushed at times, making it hard to fully connect with the characters.
