I just had the chance to watch Psycho Killer (2026), and I’m still trying to process the whirlwind of emotions I experienced – it’s like my mind is playing a game of “catch the serial killer” and I’m not sure I’m ready for the twist. This Crime, Thriller, Mystery movie had me on the edge of my seat, questioning everything, and rooting for the protagonist like my life depended on it. With its short but sweet 92-minute runtime, Psycho Killer is a wild ride that will keep you guessing until the very end.
The plot of Psycho Killer revolves around a Kansas highway patrol officer who’s on a mission to track down the person responsible for her husband’s brutal murder. As she delves deeper into the case, she discovers that the killer is not just any ordinary person, but a sadistic serial killer with a twisted agenda. With the help of her colleagues, including James Preston Rogers and Logan Miller, she navigates the dark and sinister world of the killer, trying to stay one step ahead of him.
What we loved about Psycho Killer is the way it masterfully weaves together the threads of the mystery, keeping us engaged and invested in the story. The performance of Georgina Campbell as the lead is exceptional, bringing a sense of grit and determination to her character. The direction by Gavin Polone is also noteworthy, as he skillfully crafts the tension and suspense, making it hard to look away from the screen. Additionally, the supporting cast, including Malcolm McDowell and Grace Dove, adds depth and complexity to the story, making it feel more realistic and immersive.
However, there are a few things that didn’t quite work for us. The TMDb Rating of 0/10 seems a bit harsh, but we can understand why some viewers might find the pacing a bit rushed or the plot twists a bit predictable. Moreover, some of the supporting characters feel a bit underdeveloped, which can make it hard to fully connect with them.
In the end, Psycho Killer is a gripping and unsettling thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Despite its flaws, the movie’s strengths outweigh its weaknesses, making it a must-watch for fans of the Crime, Thriller, Mystery genre. As the protagonist says, the truth is always hiding in plain sight, and Psycho Killer is no exception. I’d give it a solid 7 out of 10, and I’m excited to see what Gavin Polone and his team come up with next.
